In 2016 composer, multi-instrumentalist, and sole member Thor gave rise to ÓREIĐA in the cavernous and volcanic landscapes of northern Iceland. Born into a vital and idiosyncratic metal scene, ÓREIĐA quickly developed a uniquely dynamic and hypnotically epic Black Metal sound all its own.

"The Eternal" - the band's second full-length and DMP debut – is a contemplative trek into the haunted sublime: traces of Post-punk, Shoegaze and Industrial are filtered through the lens of totemic ‘90s Black Metal into 5 transcendent and trance-inducing tracks which wed uplifting harmony, off-kilter melodicism, and passages akin to being in the barrage of a blinding snowstorm.

"The Eternal" was created in a period when Thor was exploring and re-examining his own spirituality - staring deep into the abyss to ultimately gaze upon darkness of the self. In the words of the composer:

"What begins as an attempt to get a deeper understanding of my connection with nature evolves into the relationship nature has to the planet, the planet has to the solar system, the solar system has to the universe and the universe has to the eternal. With chaos. With the eternal static.

The concept was also based on the Myth of Sisyphus and in particular Albert Camus' take. It is a climb through the eternal. You find your path, you cross the rivers, you make the climb and then reach the apex only to find yourself faced with the eternal. There is no end, only the journey, and the journey goes on forever."
